2pm - 3pm - Alex
Our other spanky new recapper is Alex. Now it's his turn to share his stuff - and it's pretty feckin' good too!
---------
In the crazy world of 24, it's now 2pm and I think we should all be very excited, what with everyone spending a week jumping around their houses/street/school/office screaming "It's Tony"!! In a high pitched voice.
And previously, Dina is shocked that Behrooz killed Tariq, and even more shocked when he tells her that Navi ordered Tariq to kill Behrooz. She confronts Navi and goes to pick Behrooz up but gets shot when she tells him to run, needless to say Behrooz stays with his wounded mother.
Edgar thinks he can turn off the override and stop 107 nuclear meltdowns, needless to say he doesn't succeed and 6 of the plants can't be stopped, SOD Heller is all like "Tell Jack, he's our only hope." Yeah he is!
Marianne Mole tells some terrorist guy that Jack and Audrey have gone to look at security footage which will incriminate him, he orders Jack and Audrey to be killed but knows that Marianne will be exposed, she has to divert suspicion.
At the security place, Audrey spots the bloke from the Terrorist Compound, but bad ass guys with guns come in and ambush them, they manage to save the computer file but Jack realises CTU has been infiltrated and calls the only person he can trust. Just as things are about to get very bad ie. Death, TONY pops up out of nowhere and the happy couple make their escape.
It's roughly 2:02 and at CTU, Erin wonders if the 6 remaining plants are taking longer to shut down, "No" Curtis says bluntly, ending that line of enquiry, they're screwed. CTU is about to go live with President Keeler to see how he wants to deal with evacuating the cities. SOD re-iterates in what will become a recurring theme that we could have 6 meltdowns, the President has a hard time grasping this, it's pretty obvious John, come on! Some casualty estimates are given, they're not good. I hate these scenes that are there so people who missed it last week can catch up, why are you missing it in the first place?! Keeler is going to evacuate the six cities- Palmer wouldn't have done that; he'd have been too concerned with mass panic- oh how I miss him!
SOD gets a call from "Marcy" who is really Jack, I think Jack would make a good Marcy; he's in the car with Audrey and Tone and wants SOD to know that they're all right. He tells SOD that there has to be a mole in CTU and wants SOD to make sure no-one knows where they are, and suggests the Melbourne Sequence, whatever that is as a way to flush out the mole.
Jack makes sure that Audrey is okay and she is, mostly, who cares? No-one is following them Tone says rather abruptly, he looks annoyed, his wife left him and he's considered a traitor to his country, but at least he's not in prison anymore thanks to Jack and Palmer, he explains. At least one good thing then! They're going back to his to use some computer stuff, Jack thanks him for his help, but he's not interested in what's going on…for a few seconds but then changes his mind. Jack explains the situation to him; he couldn't really care less it seems. I like bitter and angry Tony.
On CTU's big TV screen, Keeler is starting the evacuation process, but that's not important, what is important is that there isn't enough time for a complete evacuation, well duh, at least fifty thousand dead per city. Cripes! Once again we're told that we have to find the people who have the override.
Speak of the devil, Navi is at Marwan's hideout type thing and is checking everywhere for Dina and Behrooz, but they aren't in any hospitals. Marwan comes over and says that having control of 6 reactors is enough to break the American's will. He looks pissed at Navi for not keeping control of his family, and Navi tells him that his wife and son will be dead by the end of this day.
Behrooz is in the car with a wounded Dina, he's convinced that he should take Dina to the hospital but she refuses saying that Navi knows she's been shot and will check the hospitals, well whatever happens Behrooz is staying with her and they then decide to go to a hospital. Navi is no longer his father...biology states otherwise.
Marianne is sneaking off to make another call to mysterious terrorist man, the CTU loos don't look as high tech as the CTU floor, stupid designers. He's confused as to why CTU hasn't heard from Jack after the attack, she's not and knows that Jack knows there must be a mole…she wants out of CTU, he says no because she's got to cover their tracks, she doesn't want to go to jail, but she'll be "taken care of", I like the sound of that. Pretty Sarah bursts in demanding to know why Marianne hasn't sent something somewhere, Marianne tells he she's about to and Sarah is all like "Hurry up, lazy bitch" and storms off. You can almost see the cogs turning in Marianne's head.
SOD'S assistant joins him in what looks like Erin's office, he explains about the mole and that he's going to leak false information about Jack's whereabouts to Erin's team and monitor any communications that contain the location, this'll involve some sort of COMSAT, but I have no idea what that is.
It's 2:11pm
It's 2:16pm- And we must be arriving at Tony's house, watch it, next doors dog likes to use the lawn- who wouldn't? Just let Jack at it with a shotgun, that'll stop him! Tony's doesn't look like I'd expect it to, I don't know how I'd expect it to look, but it wasn't like that. Jack scouts the house for people and finds some slut called Jen who has nothing on Michelle, Jack's not going to let her leave because no-one can know that him and Audrey are there, in the end Audrey shows that she actually has a sense of humour by saying that she could have Jen' boss killed if he busts her for not showing up for work, Jen's all like "Whatever" and Jack shows his sarcastic side by saying "She seems real sweet" HeHe.
Jack has to convert the security files and Tone has some software, he goes off to find it, giving us a chance to find out some more back story about him. Michelle left him because he started drinking and changed when he got out of prison, he was angry and couldn't get a job and pushed her away. I really miss Michelle, she was hot. But she's Deputy Director at District now which gives me hope that we'll see her at some point. Tone brings the software and they're into the files. Nice scene, some funny moments and good dialogue, more please!
AT CTU, SOD and assistant bloke start their plan to flush out the mole; everyone's a suspect, even Erin. Assistant Scott tells the briefing team (which happens to include Marianne even though she's only just got there) that Jack spoke to him, and that his whereabouts are to be kept internal.
Marianne then immediately goes to a desk and gives the location through what appears to be a Dictaphone like device and walks off.
At the Tony house, Audrey has spotted terrorist man on the surveillance and Jack phones a DC office to route the picture through, but that damned Jen woman is on the phone, Tone springs into action and forces the phone off her, I'm not for domestic abuse but in times of crisis……..Anyway, Marcy in DC answers and immediately gets to work on finding an ID.
We flip back to CTU and it looks like Marianne's been busted, SOD confirms that they have the information that they need and takes it up to Erin who's pissed she was kept out of the loop, nevertheless she knows now and seems surprised when she reads SOD's document. They go to the floor, where the redshit..I mean redshirt security team come in and they walk straight past Marianne….err guys, she's the mole?! Apparently not because they take Sarah into custody, she's obviously a bit shocked and wants to know what's going on. What's going on honey is that you're under arrest. Remain silent!! Marianne smirks.
It's 2:25pm
It's 2:29pm- They're dividing Sarah' files at CTU and sending them to division, Edgar refuses to believe that she's guilty and is going on Hunger Strike to protest. He's not, but Marianne tries to convince him that Sarah was able to fool everybody; Edgar's having none of it and wonders why Sarah would leave the message on the system. Marianne argues that the message was encrypted but Edgar disagrees saying that the encryption used would be a piece of piss to crack, Marianne walks off saying Sarah wasn't the sharpest knife in the draw, bitchy.
It's Interrogation time! And Erin's going to do it herself, she's learned her lesson after the Sharek incident earlier and is going to do anything it takes to get information from Sarah, she pulls out a gun and shoots her in the leg. Or not. Sarah knows nothing because somebody set her up but Erin brings in torture man and he tazer's the side of her face, she's still not saying anything and is now crying. I think CTU is having a competition to try and use as many different forms of torture in a day. She still knows nothing and Erin walks out into the hidden room where SOD is watching. She thinks that Sarah might be telling the truth, but SOD is adamant about the evidence they have, he's going to brief Jack.
Jack's still going over the surveillance, Tony comes in and offers everyone a beer, depends what the beer is, but thanks for offering, Audrey accepts, Jack says no, Tone of course says yes and sits down with his cute little mug and turns on some real football. SOD calls telling Jack that they found the mole, Jack doesn't seem arsed but CTU channels will be open again to share data. SOD's sending someone over to pick Audrey up. Jack then switches the TV off much to Tone' chagrin and wants to know why Tone never called him; I think they're going to break up on national TV!! Jack could've helped. Tony' bitterness is too much and Jack gives up. Tone's repaid his debt and wants nothing more to do with what's going on so Jack can leave when he's done. He switches the TV back on; at least he didn't miss any goals.
It's 2:37pm
It's 2:41pm- I'd almost forgotten about the Araz family. Behrooz and Dina are at a hospital, the doctor is inquisitive as to where Dina got the wound from, she backed into an old nail is her story and she's sticking to it. He doesn't believe her even when Behrooz backs her up and thinks it's a gunshot wound. He'll stitch her up and he leaves, Behrooz keeps an eye on him, making sure that he hasn't made any phone calls, he hasn't, phew! Behrooz thinks it mightn't be so bad if they go to the police, Dina tells him that if they do then they'll spend the rest of their lives in jail. Err I think not, they're more likely to be executed. If they can get out of the city they can stay somewhere for a few days and then get out of the country. I think that Shoreh Agdashloo is the best thing to happen to 24 in a long time, the range of emotions she brings to the part is amazing, I'm going to be checking out some more of her stuff at some point, a wonderful actress.
At the happy Tony home, Jack gets a call; they have a match on the surveillance. The terrorist bloke is called Henry Powell and he's scheduled to leave LA on a helicopter in 15 minutes even though air traffic is grounded, he got special clearance. Jack tells them to ground the flight until her can get there, coincidentally enough he's about fifteen minutes away. Secret Service is here and they take Audrey away and also bring Jack a car, I'm going out on a whim and guessing it's a Ford. He calls Erin and the fastest she can get ground backup to the helipad is thirty minutes. No can do as Jack has to go now. Tony's itching to get involved, I can see it. He asks Jack if he could use his help, like Jack would refuse a chance to watch the Tonester kick some ass, he accepts and Tony leaves with him. Poor Jen stands there looking dumb; maybe she thinks that they're going to kill her boss. I hope they avoided the crap on the yard when they left.
Edgar asks Curtis what they're doing to Sarah, it's none of his business Curtis replies and as Edgar sits down, Marianne wants to know what Edgar wanted, and Curtis blanks her. Edgar can't stop staring at Marianne; she cheated on Joey you know.
We travel back to the hospital where the doc is giving Dina a jab, Behrooz notices the police are there and they scarper pronto. The doc sold them out!! Whatever happened to patient confidentiality?! They leave in a car with a couple of cop cars half-heartedly following them and Dina looking really weak. It's lucky Behrooz can drive really, though he didn't put his seat belt on.
It's 2:48pm
It's 2:52pm- Edgar's doing some hacking and he has that clearance that Marianne wanted, she just needs to pick a new password, which she does after much hassling from Edgar, he waddles back to his desk and keeps an eye on Marianne whilst logging into the sever as her, he then finds the message that Sarah supposedly sent, he should be a field agent! Anyway, Marianne Mole has noticed him and comes over, warning him that she could tell Erin that he helped Chloe help Jack and get him fired. Edgar grows a set and walks away from her, asking Curtis to walk with him to Erin' office, once there he explains that Marianne sent the message and is the mole, he explains how in a way I don't understand and SOD Assistant and Erin look confused, they look out the window and see Marianne running away. The good old CTU alarm goes off and Curtis gives chase. Good choice not to wear heels, Marianne not Curtis. She gets into the car park, but is too slow and Curtis grabs her, orders a CTU stooge to check the car but the car goes BOOM and the force of the explosion causes Marianne to slam her head into a nearby car. I don't think she's dead, if they wanted her dead they would have had the car explode on her. I'm glad they got her, one character I did not like.
And now we have a name for him, Henry Powell arrives at the helipad, and the helicopter is sure enough waiting for him, but the pilot tells him that he can't fly it because the flight's been grounded. You will fly it Powell tells him especially when he pulls out his gun, ha. They get in the chopper and start the take off procedure, but Jack and Tone arrive and drive over a big ditch. I think that'll be the COOL MOMENT of the episode because it looked good. They order Powell and the pilot out of the chopper to which they comply. Powell offers Bauer money to let him go, Jack ain't motivated by money, bitch. Tony grabs the bag from the chopper. Powell wants to know who they work for to which Tone replies "Actually, I'm unemployed" Great Line.
So now it appears CTU might almost have things under control for once. They have the right mole now and the guy she's working for, all plays into my theory that there's something bigger than these meltdowns because they were virtually given nothing in the episode, which confuses me. Audrey is back at CTU and they've stopped torturing Sarah which is nice to see a bit of communication going on!
And we're not done yet because back at the helipad Powell wants to know who they work for to which Tone replies "Actually, I'm unemployed" Great Line. Tone goes to put Powell in the shiny new Ford, but within about half a second a bullet is put through Powell's chest by a handily placed sniper. He's Dead, so maybe things aren't looking up for CTU after all.
And we end on a nice "DAMMIT" from Jack which in drinking game rules means Finish Your Drinks!!
It's 3pm

Another fabulous recap from LittleSiUK :) More recaps to come from my other guy :)
These are all really great work!
--------------------------------------
We open with one of my new favourites, Mr. Curtis Manning, bursting into Erin's office and blaming her for allowing Marianne into CTU, to which she quickly reminds him of his affair with her. Rather than compromise either of their authorities in front of division, he suggests they cover up the details of how Marianne got such high security clearance so quickly. Erin agrees, noting that she's not a fan of people holding things over her..
As Curtis takes care of this, Heller struggles to explain to Keeler everything that's happened in the last hour. He then regretfully informs him that an evacuation has already begun around San Gabriel Island's nuclear plant. It could go into a full-scale meltdown by 4...Gulp....
Over to Jack now, who has just pulled Powell's call log off of his cellphone, to discover that of the two numbers he repeatedly called, one of them was Marianne's. They were in cahoots. Not recognising phone number 2, he passes the info onto Erin who puts Edgar on it immediately. He claims that if they can get it to ring 4 times, he can find the location. How technology has advanced over the years eh? Teri and Kim could've done with that kind of trace speed back when they stole Eli's phone in season one! Jack would have found her no problem!
Meanwhile, Navi Araz continues the desperate search for his wife and son, hoping to find them at her sister's house. Sadly all that he gets for his troubles is a half-naked man giving him abuse for bursting in like this. Never mind, a gun to the head shuts him up and he retreats back into the sister's bedroom, right before she begs Navi not to tell her husband. The slut! Disgusted, he leaves to call his cronies, who inform him there's still no word from any of the hospitals....
...and that's because the troublesome Behrooz and Dina have wisely taken refuge in a hotel. Unfortunately though, Dina looks much the worse for wear due to her untreated wound given to her by her husband. Fearing for her life, Behrooz decides to go to his uncle Naseem for help, as he conveniently works in a hospital not far from them. Funny then that they chose not to go to him in the last ep really isn't it? Oh well, off Behrooz trots, telling his mum to hold on. They are briefly interrupted by Dina's ringing phone, but, not recognising the number, they decide to leave it. Wise decision, as happily letting it ring, they inadvertently give Edgar all the time he needs to get their location and relay it to Jack...
Our man Bauer tells Erin to get him some back-up and then heads to his car. Tony nearly chickens out of remaining his partner, but Jack reminds him he has hordes of fans on the internet who would like to see him stay, that and the fact that rather a lot of nuclear reactors are about to meltdown. That in mind, they jump in their vehicle and speed off, whilst the audience waits with baited breath for the two of them to finally have a showdown with the Araz clan. This is going to be sweet...
However, they could already be too late, for Heller is informed just seconds later that they have a meltdown on their hands. Bugger. He and the assembled CTU staff look on helpless as a video transmission is forwarded to them from the control room of the San Gabriel island reactor. It seems everyone there has gone all George Mason and all attempts to contain the radiation have failed. At this news, 24's death count smiles greedily and gets ready to ratchet itself up a few notches...
This is bad news for Edgar it seems, for his own mother lives right in the middle of the evacuation zone! He calls her to tell her to get out of there, but as she is wheel-chair bound and all her neighbours have already left, that doesn't seem like it's going to be happening anytime soon. Full marks to the writer's here for creating such a cool and human character in Edgar, that we can all empathise with, and full marks to Louis Lombardi for playing it perfectly. Poor guy, all he wanted was to be as cool as Chloe in her absence, and now he's going to lose his mum...
Back in the briefing room, things are going from bad to worse for Heller, whose people just can't seem to get a handle on the evacuation operation. People are bumping heads left and right and no-one seems to be expediting the process in the slightest. Enter Audrey, who assures her father she can untangle this mess and get those evacuees out of there. Heller agrees, and in order to provide the perfect cut for the editors, quickly reminds her and the audience that everything is now riding on....guess who.....Jack! And with that, cut to....
Jack Bauer! He and Tony pull up at the motel where Dina is hiding out, and liaise with field agent Lee Castle who takes an instant disliking to Tony. Jack tells him to back off and they make their move on Behrooz's rather sick-looking mum. She tries to take her own life but the field team moves in quickly and Jack secures the gun before she can do herself harm. Suddenly, Lee goes mental, pressing on her wound and demanding the location of the override! Tony pulls him away, knowing full well that the only man allowed to go mental on a suspect is Mr. Bauer. He slams Lee up against the wall, finally getting his own back for all those times Jack has whipped his butt, and orders him to stand down. Castle shouts that Almeida has no right to give him orders, prompting Jack to firmly put him in his place. This woman is willing to die and will not respond to physical interrogation, their only hope of getting her to talk is by getting hold of some leverage...
Another convenient transition later and we're over to Behrooz at his uncle's hospital. He asks for some pain medication, but the man is suspicious and puts a call through to Navi, who claims Behrooz is on drugs. He asks Naseem to keep him there and gets in his car...
Erin calls Jack to alert him of a suspicious phone call found by Homeland Security around 2 hours ago. After the raised threat level, they started flagging suspect calls in the LA area and managed to pick up the one in which Behrooz begs Dina for help having killed Tariq. She plays it for him and Tony, at which point they both realise where Mrs. Araz's gunshot wound came from, and that they've now got the leverage they need...The son.
Jack re-enters the motel and goes into the bathroom, where we are treated to another cool shot of him checking himself out in the mirror a la 9am in season two. We also get a glimpse of the strangely ominous Salazar tattoo on his left arm...
Ready to go, Jack takes a seat next to Dina. He tells her that he knows what happened to her this morning, and that her loyalty to her cause was challenged when she decided she could not let her son become a casualty. He also warns her that Behrooz is now alone, and that unless they find him, he will die. In response, Dina reminds him that, were she to talk, her son would only end up in jail. Jack corrects her. He is confident that as Behrooz is a minor, he could convince the President to grant him a fully binding pardon from all charges. All she has to do in return is help them find the override. However, this offer expires the second another reactor melts down. She doesn't have long...
Making her decision, Dina decides to help the agents, on the condition that she sees the document Jack speaks of first. He heads off to call Keeler...
Still mourning his mother at CTU, Edgar tries to get Audrey to call the National Guard on his behalf and convince them to help her. She eventually agrees, but it is to no avail. In disbelief, Edgar calls his mum for a second time, but she has some rather chilling news for him. Rather than suffer through radiation poisoning, dear old Lucy Stiles has decided to take her own life, which, understandably, isn't very easy for her son to take in. On the verge of tears, she signs off, making sure he knows how much she loves him.....
Edgar is still incredulous, and tries to leave the building, desperate to help his mother, but Erin stops him. She convinces him that he can be of more use here, and finally gets him to stay...
Jack in the mean time, is through to Keeler and convinces him to sign the pardon as agreed. However, the sneaky President that he is, as soon as the call ends, he tells his staff to ensure the document is non-binding...
Back in the motel, Jack shows Dina a printout of the pardon, which is enough to convince her to contact Behrooz and let him know that government agents are on their way to pick him up. He allows this to happen on the condition that she is with them when they arrive. Jack agrees and they head for the hospital where...
...Behrooz tries to leave, but Naseem stops him. He reveals Navi is on the way and Behrooz goes crazy, pushing his uncle off of him and making a run for it. He doesn't get far however, for just around the corner, his father is waiting for him. He coldly shoots Naseem and drags his son into a stairwell, ready to splatter his brains. Before he can, Behrooz blurts out that Dina is with the police and if he dies, she talks. Frustrated, Navi drags him toward the parking garage....
Cue the final heart-pounding act!
Jack and co. arrive in their lovely fords, and are soon informed of a shooting in the hospital. Jack asks where the suspect is now and he is told that he was last seen heading for the parking lot. Giving Tony the location, Jack makes for the stairwell...
He bursts into the garage, just as Navi floors the accelerator, a terrified Behrooz in the passenger seat. Jack opens fire only to be hit by the speeding car, shattering the windshield! He rolls off and shoots out the tyres, sending the vehicle slamming into a wall. Getting up, Jack grunts, shrugs off the fact he was just hit at full speed by a car, and orders Navi to let the boy go. Ignoring him, Mr. Araz drags Behrooz into the basement, as Tony pulls up with the field unit and Dina in tow. She screams out for her son.
Jack informs his men that the basement has no exits for Navi to escape from and that they should seal off the building immediately. He then puts a call through to Driscoll to update her, only to be interrupted by Mrs. Araz. She coldly states that she is loyal to her cause and that if they can't save her son, she is happy to see the reactors melt down!
Jack lifts the phone to his ear to speak to Erin:
“Did you get that?"

Stay tuned for ep 10 folks!!!!!!
2pm - 3pm - LittleSiUK
Yes ladies and gentlemen I've found a couple of takers to help me with recapping. Hurrah!!! I'm so chuffed! I say a couple because I got the idea that having more than one take on each episode would be nice to read. So for now we've got me when I can get at it, LittleSiUK, and one other person whom I'm waiting on atm. I'll post their recaps for them and try to find some way to differentiate who's who :)
Anyway, big thanks to LittleSiUK for this recap of the 2pm-3pm hour:
----------------
Well, here it is, the moment so many fans had been waiting for, Tony Almeida is back and he brought his soul-patch and a gun with him! Don't you just love how the writers had him return by re-enacting his finest hour? (Saving Teri from the claws of Jovan Myovic waaaaaay back in season one.)
So now he's where he always should have been, out in the field kicking ass with Jack. Let's see what the happy couple got up to around 2pm on Jack's 4th bad day...
First things first, having just averted death over at Felsted security, Jack calls Heller to warn him about that pesky mole that's been causing so much trouble. He reminds him of a previous case and tells him to deal with this in the same way, in order to flush out the traitor.
In an attempt to pull this off, Heller has his good friend Scott Borman from DOD brought over, and he tells him to leak information that Jack is at an old CTU substation in Torrance. Then all they have to do is wait for someone to send out a communication with that info and bingo, there's the mole. Right? Wrong! But we'll come back to that...
Tony meanwhile has reminded Jack that he only got out of prison because of the help he and Palmer provided, and that once out, his wife kindly left him. Seems kind of harsh, she was balling her eyes out back in season 3 when he was first sent to jail, yet she can up and leave so suddenly?!?! What did he do? That same question is on Audrey's mind, and she is quick to ask Jack when they return to Tony's home. He reveals that Tony basically closed up after he was released; he started drinking and was very bitter about what had happened. He pushed her away.
Still, he seems to be trying to recover from that, as Jack almost shoots his new lady 'friend' Jen, who he is surprised to find in Tony's house. Tony is quick to dismiss her, telling her she can't leave because no-one can know Jack and Audrey are there. She is pretty peeved and stays in the bedroom.
Let me just say that Tony's character development in this episode was great, and it was beautifully played by Carlos Bernard. Think Season 2 Jack in the first episode, except with Tony.
He makes it clear to Jack that once they've used his computer to access the Felsted security footage (which Jack wisely downloaded onto some memory sticks prior to everything hitting the proverbial fan last ep), he doesn't want to be involved. He only saved Jack to pay him back for getting him out of prison. Knowing there's still a mole in CTU, Jack instead sends a photo of the man Audrey recognised to his office over at DOD and then waits patiently for them to get back to him with an ID.
Meanwhile, things with the reactors are looking pretty grim. Keeler has decided they may not get a handle on this in time and orders an evacuation of the six cities under threat. What he neglects to tell the public however, and what Curtis reveals to Erin, is that there is no way any of these places can be completely cleared in the time frame available. Looks like Jack better do something and quick!
Knowing Mr. Bauer is yet to call in having survived the ambush set up by her employer, Marianne is sure he knows CTU has been breached and tells her employer the same having snuck into the bathroom to call him. Powell orders her to stay at CTU regardless, before she is interrupted by Sarah who tells her to get back to work.
She does so and is soon informed by Borman of Jack's new location in Torrance, which he of course wants kept covert. Wary of what she told Powell, she records the location on a voice recorder at her desk then links it up to her computer. But for what purpose...
Heller quickly receives the information they need and is given the name of the mole by his friend Borman. They intercepted her attempting to send a message containing the planted information to the outside. Yay! Bye bye Marianne! Heller informs Driscoll, whose first reaction is to get angry at the fact she was kept out of the loop on this, but the secretary convinces her it was the only way and gives her the traitor’s name. They call security and head to the main floor. A horde of guards then accompanies them towards Marianne...Oh no, hold on, they go straight past her?! What's going on?! They arrive at - shock, horror - Sarah's desk! Despite her claims of innocence, Sarah is placed under arrest and hauled off to a holding room.
It seems only good old Edgar is sure of her innocence, pointing out that the message she supposedly sent that incriminates her was sloppily encrypted and just sitting on her system waiting to be found. Marianne snottily retorts: "Oh well, she wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer..." You manipulative little...
Back in holding, Sarah is introduced to the dreaded Eric Richards who's been doing a lot of work over the last few hours! Erin pleads with her to tell the truth, but she is adamant that she has been set up. As Erin watches Mr. Richards coldly apply a taser to Sarah’s neck, the audience is left screaming "No, you fools!" Heller looks on through the one-way mirror as the torture continues, joined by Erin who believes Sarah doesn't quite fit the profile for a traitor...
Having been cut off by Tony when expressing a desire to help him, Jack finally gets the ID on the man Audrey recognised. Henry Powell, a computer consultant for Mclennen Forster, the company who designed the override. Not only that, he has a helo booked to fly him out of the city in about 15 minute's time. Jack takes down the location, drops Audrey off with the Secret Service detail sent over by her father, and heads for his car. Tony stops him and eventually asks if he's going to need help as, quite rightly, it would be pretty stupid if he let him die right after he saved his life. Jack admits it would be nice and off they go. Cue cool soundtrack as they climb into their shiny Ford SUV and look tough...
Over at CTU, Edgar has become very suspicious of Marianne, convinced Sarah is innocent. He tricks her into giving him access to her computer files, on which he finds record of her using Sarah's system to transmit the message about Jack. Taking it to Driscoll and Curtis, Marianne attempts to run, but Curtis chases her and corners her outside in the parking lot before she can get away in her car. He cuffs her and orders someone to impound the vehicle. Unfortunately for the agent given this fairly simple task, her car has been rigged by persons unknown with a rather unpleasant car bomb which kills him and knocks Marianne unconscious. Curtis looks on in shock...
As the clock nears 3pm, Powell forces his pilot at gunpoint to take-off; even after DOD orders him to stay grounded. He almost gets away with it too, but in the nick of time our heroes (Jack and Tony, who else?) arrive and drag the man from the aircraft. He is quickly restrained. Yes! Jack has his suspect, he'll find out where the override is now, and LA will sleep soundly once more. That is, it would, were it not for the ill-timed sniper who comes from nowhere and shoots Powell dead! Jack, rather frustrated having lost his only witness, lets out a nice big "DAMMIT" and we reach the top of the hour.
Tick Boom.
Aha, but wait, there's more. What of the Araz clan you say? Oh they're around, but they take somewhat of a backseat this episode due to everything else happening with Jack, and at CTU. However, this story is definitely building to a climax, with Navi promising the mysterious Habib that his wife and son will be dead by the end of the day, and Behrooz and Dina forced to flee from a hospital after the cops find out about her gunshot wound... What does the next few hours bring them? It seems we'll find out soon...
To be continued... ...
Anyway, big thanks to LittleSiUK for this recap of the 2pm-3pm hour:

To be continued... ...

Right...
This just isn't working out very well :(
Between coming down with a horrible cold that zapped all energy and will to blog, taking care of my daughter who was equally sick, visiting relatives, work and all of the other little things that creep up, I find myself back on 24 night and I'm behind by 2 recaps.
I thought I'd get them done last week until my cold redoubled on itself and kicked my ass. Then I thought, 'I'm sick, I'm lying in bed doing nothing but coughing up lung tissue, why not work on the recaps?' Then I thought, 'Meh.'
I'm very good at procrastinating.
So I think it's safe to say that tonight's episode will pass and I will not get around to doing the recap for it because then I'd have three to do.
So I guess my question is: is there any interest out there from those of you who drop by a lot in doing recaps for this site? Wouldn't it be kind of fun to have several people contribute their take on the show through a recap? Yeah, it's time-consuming. Yeah, you need to be able to spell fairly well :)
So we can either put up with me doing sporadic recaps when I can carve out time, or we can have another person or two doing them. Please leave a comment after this post and tell me if you're interested in recapping.
Thanks.
