JACK BAUER {Voice over} Right now, terrorists are plotting to assassinate a presidential candidate. My wife and daughter have been targeted. And the people I work with may be involved in both. I’m Federal Agent Jack Bauer, and today is the longest day of my life.
JACK BAUER {Voice over} The following takes place between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the day of the California Presidential Primary.
INT. THE BAUER HOUSE
{Jovan has hidden the dead CTU. agent in the bushes as he watches Phil Parslow and Teri Bauer walk up to the house}
PHIL PARSLOW: The first time you invited me back here, you left your keys in the car. It was pouring rain so we didn't want to run back. We used your hide a key.
{As Phil opens the door the security alarm is sounded off very loud}
TERI BAUER: AH...What do I do Phil? I don't know what to do. I don't know the code.
PHIL PAESLOW: Just take your time. It might come back to you.
TERI BAUER: Can you make it stop? Just make it stop.
{The phone rings}
TERI BAUER: HELLO?
WOMAN: This is Superior Alarms.
TERI BAUER: Can you make this stop?
WOMAN: I need your password.
TERI BAUER: I don't know the password.

EXT. CALIFORNIA PLAZA
{Nina Meyers, Jack Bauer and some agents are all standing around the dead body of Morgan}
NINA MEYERS: Allan Morgan, Saugus.
COP: Yeah, Pacific Electric.
NINA MEYERS: Got it, Thanks.........Jack? His name was Allan Morgan. He worked for Pacific Electric in Saugus.
JACK BAUER: In Saugus? All right, he was paid off by Alexis to kill the power in a section of that grid. Did you get the coordinates? 26 double G.
NINA MEYERS: 26 double G. Yeah.
JACK BAUER: We need to know where that is now.
NINA MEYERS: I'll get this over to Tony. You need me to stick around?
JACK BAUER: No, just get a hold of me when you find something.
NINA MEYERS: I'll see you back at the office.
JACK BAUER: Fine.

INT. THE BAUER HOUSE
{The alarm is still going off}
PHIL PARSLOW: None of these are working.
{Two security guards pop out of nowhere}
TERI BAUER: {SCREAMING} PHIL!!!!!
GUARD: Superior Alarms stay where you are.
PHIL PARSLOW: Please, This woman she lives here. She just forgot her code that's all.
{The guard walks over to the alarm system and shuts it down.}
GUARD: Teri Bauer?
TERI BAUER: Yes.
GUARD: Do you have any I.D.?
TERI BAUER: Sure, It's in my purse.
{Teri walks in the living room looking in her purse as she sees photos of Jack and Kim and herself. The guard sees the photos as well}
GUARD: Ah no I.D. necessary you obviously live here.
PHIL PARSLOW: She just forgot her code.
TERI BAUER: I don't set it, I think Kimberly does.
GUARD: Just sign this please.
TERI BAUER: Thank you.

INT. CALIFORNIA PLAZA
{George Mason shows up at the plaza}
GEORGE MASON: Nice Jack. Have you noticed there is always a body count everywhere you go?
JACK BAUER: I gave Hanlon clear orders not to shoot.
GEROGE MASON: Where did he go?
{Jack's cell rings}
JACK BAUER: He's over there. {Answers phone} Bauer.
SENATOR PALMER: Jack, it's David Palmer.
JACK BAUER: Yes Senator.
SENATOR PALMER: I just heard back from my source over at the Pentagon. I had to twist some arms to get the missing Drazen file.
JACK BAUER: What was in it?
SENATOR PALMER: Dates and locations. It seems to relate to the last months of Victor Drazen's life.
JACK BAUER: Anything we can use?
SENATOR PALMER: Maybe. The last entry is an address unrelated to anything else.
JACK BAUER: What is it?
SENATOR PALMER: 21911 Kipling. In a city called Saugus.
JACK BAUER: I'm sorry Senator did you just say Saugus?
SENATOR PALMER: Does that mean anything?
JACK BAUER: Yes, I think it does. I'm gonna have to get back to you. Thank you sir this is going to help.
{Jack gives Tony a call}
TONY ALMEIDA: CTU. Almeida.
JACK BAUER: Tony it's Jack take down this address for me.
TONY ALMEIDA: Go ahead.
JACK BAUER: 21911 Kipling Avenue in Saugus. I got a feeling it's going to be in grid coordinates Nina gave you.
TONY ALMEIDA: All right, hang on...........................Yeah your right. It's in the middle of sector 26-GG.
JACK BAUER: Okay find out what is there and get back to me on my cell.
TONY ALMEIDA: All right.
{Hangs up}
{Jack starts to walk up to his car}
GEORGE MASON: Hey where ya headed?
JACK BAUER: I'm going to Saugus. Alexis paid off Morgan to knock out the power at a specific address out there. I want to know why.
GEORGE MASON: Slow down Jack I'm on your side. Fill me in.
JACK BAUER: Two and a half hours ago Robert Ellis was killed in New Orleans because he almost found out about this location. We got the address from the Drazen file. The Senator just gave it to me.
GEORGE MASON: Okay. Let's go.
JACK BAUER: What do you mean let’s?
GEORGE MASON: You want to go, I'm your chaperone. Want a ride?
JACK BAUER: Yeah.
GEORGE MASON: Hop in.
{Jack and George drive out to Saugus}

INT. RICKS HOUSE
{Frank, is beginning to pace. He is extremely mad that Dan is not back with the money.}
FRANK: Where's my brother?
RICK: I don't know.
FRANK: These guys are going to be here in twenty minuets.
RICK: I told you Frank, we split up. He said he was going to meet me back here with the payoff from Gaines. Look If I was ripping you off, why would I come back here?
{Frank throws and breaks a phone in anger.}
FRANK: DAMN!!!!
{Frank leaves the room}
RICK: What are you doing?
KIM BAUER: I'm not waiting around for that lunatic to get us killed.
MELANIE: Your not going anywhere.
RICK: Melanie!!
MELANIE: She'll go to the police. She'll tell them about the deal.
KIM BAUER: I don't care about the deal. I came here because I wanted your help to find my mom but that was a mistake.
MELANIE: You came here for Rick.
KIM BAUER: I did not.
RICK: Kim, don't worry about her you should just leave.
MELANIE: What do you mean don't worry about me?
KIM BAUER: Come with me.
RICK: I can't.
KIM BAUER: Whatever is going on out there is gonna be a lot better than in here.
MELANIE: You heard Frank. Nobody goes anywhere until Dan gets back with the money.
KIM BAUER: DAN'S NOT COMING BACK.
{Frank hears Kim say that as he rushes in}
FRANK: What do you mean?
KIM BAUER: I just.....
RICK: Leave her alone.
FRANK: WHAT DO YOU MEAN??
RICK: He's dead.
FRANK: What are you talking about?
RICK: Gaines killed him, he was gonna kill me to I swear to God Frank. This guy Gaines was out of control.
FRANK: Where's the money now?
RICK: Gaines never paid us.
FRANK: There gonna be here in a half an hour. These are not the type of guys you invite over to do a deal and come up short.
RICK: Call it off.
FRANK: To late to call it off.

INT. PALMER HOTEL
{The Palmer's as a family sit down for dinner as Sherry has something on her mind}
SHERRY PALMER: What are you going to say down there today David?
KEITH PALMER: He's gonna tell the truth.
SHERRY PALMER: Look, don't start with me. You have caused enough pain in this family.
SENATOR PALMER: Sherry!!!!
SHERRY PALMER: Well I'm sorry David but somebody has to say the words. This hole thing would not have started if Keith hadn't decided to take matters into his own hands.
SENATOR PALMER: Listen to me. Nobody is defending what Keith did. He acted on the moment.
KEITH PALMER: That's right mom. I'm willing to pay the price for this. Even if it means I have to go to jail.
SHERRY PALMER: You still think this is just about you don't you. When are you going to get it through your head that your father is running for President of the United States of America? A black man. Just let that sink in.
SENATOR PALMER: Calm down. Both of you.

INT. MASON'S CAR
{On there way to Saugus}
{Jack on the phone with Nina}
NINA MEYERS: I just got in. I've got some info on that location in Saugus.
JACK BAUER: Go ahead.
NINA MEYERS: It's a wildlife preserve.
GEORGE MASON: Great were going to a sierra club meeting.
NINA MEYERS: Who's with you?
JACK BAUER: Mason. That doesn't make sense. Saugus is all industrial. What about the GPS maps?
NINA MEYERS: I've got three on the way.
JACK BAUER: Okay. Good work. I'll get back to you.
{Hangs up}
GEORGE MASON: So correct me if I'm wrong but basically what this day boils down to is a personal vendetta against you and Palmer by the family of Victor Drazen?
JACK BAUER: Yes. Palmer authorized the mission and I carried it out. Today is the second anniversary of Victor Drazen's death.
GEORGE MASON: Happy anniversary.....So what are we expecting to find out in Saugus?
JACK BAUER: I don't know.
GEORGE MASON: I got to tell ya Jack. It never gets dull with you.
JACK BAUER: Yeah. For what it's worth I'm sorry about last night.
GEORGE MASON: What? Shooting me in the leg with a tram? Don't give it a second thought.
JACK BAUER: Needless to say I was pretty wound up. I feel better now knowing my family is safe.
{Mason gets a little uncomfortable}
JACK BAUER: What's the matter?
GEORGE MASON: No, I'm fine. Beat. You know. Could use a little sleep.
JACK BAUER: Tell me about it. I'm so tired.

INT. RICK'S PLACE
{Frank is thinking about what to do}
{Kim tries to make a run for it as she sees a few guys walk up to the door. Frank grabs her}
FRANK: Hey...hey....hey..no..no get back here. {To the guys} Come in man. Did you get it?
{Frank's friend throws down a duffle bag full of weapons.}
FRANK: That's what I'm talking about.
RICK: These the guys with the Ex?
FRANK: No there just a couple of friends of mine.
RICK: Frank, what are you going to do?
FRANK: What does it look like? We can't pay the dealer if we don't have any money.
RICK: You're gonna rip them off?
{Frank cocks his gun}
FRANK: Yeah. I'm gonna do just that. You got a problem with that Rick?
RICK: No man. It's cool.

INT. THE BAUER HOUSE
PHIL PARSLOW: Anything look familiar?
TERI BAUER: It's so weird looking at what I did for the last couple of months. It doesn't mean anything to me. I can't remember to much.
{The door bell rings}
{It's Phil's buddy Chris.}
CHRIS: Hey Phil.
PHIL PARSLOW: Chris, Hi.
{Chris walks in}
{Teri gets scared when she sees a gun on Chris}
TERI BAUER: Why does he have a gun?
PHIL PARSLOW: He's here to protect us Teri.
TERI BAUER: I don't care. I don't want any guns inside the house.
PHIL PARSLOW: Chris, will you give us a couple minuets.
CHRIS: Yeah, sure.
PHIL PARSLOW: Teri, Chris is a friend of mine. I called him over here.
TERI BAUER: That doesn't matter. I don't know who you are. I don't know him and I don't want any guns in here.
PHIL PARSLOW: Okay. I'll tell him to wait outside. Is that okay? We need him here. Your husband could of been the one who roughed you up.
TERI BAUER: Okay.

EXT. THE BAUER HOUSE
{Jovan still hiding behind a tree calls Andre Drazen}
ANDRE DRAZEN: What's going on over there?
JOVAN: The wife is here.
ANDRE DRAZEN: And the daughter?
JOVAN: No.
ANDRE DRAZEN: What are you waiting for?
JOVAN: There is a little interference but it will pass soon. Have you found Alexis?
ANDRE DRAZEN: Not yet. Call me when it is done.

INT. PALMER'S HOTEL IST FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM
{Senator Palmer is getting ready to give his speech to the public}
{Palmer enters and begins}
SENATOR PALMER: Last night I received a phone call regarding my son Keith and my daughter Nicole. That call has unfortunately set off a chain of events that has culminated into a terrible tragedy. Whether or not what I have to say jeopardizes my campaign is for the voters to decide. I'm doing this for my family. A large portion of the financial support for my campaign comes from a group of businessmen right here in Los Angeles. Every Presidential campaign relies on these.
{The businessmen watch this room there office}
CARL WEBB: I'll take care of it.
JORGENSEN: To late Carl.
{Back to the conference room}
SENATOR PALMER: I have apparently misjudged these men. More importantly they have misjudged me. How it was acquired I am not at liberty to say. I have already handed this incriminating tape over to the Justice Department. Whether or not it's admissible in court, it will still implicate the men who have been supporting my campaign. These men acted without my consent or knowledge. As for my son Keith, He is prepared to turn himself in and face whatever the Grand Jury deems necessary. He is my son, and I love him, and I will stand by him. I am confident that when presented with the facts, that it will be clear that there was no criminal intent or wrongdoing. He will only be guilty of not reporting an accident. As for my daughter Nicole, it is important for everyone to remember that she was a victim in a horrible and physical crime. She is not a source of information. This is about a cover up, not a rape.
I'm asking you now as a father, please find your humanity and spare Nicole the indignity of having to relive this nightmare.

INT. C.T.U. MAIN FLOOR
NINA MEYERS: You didn't tell me?
TONY ALMEIDA: Nina.
NINA MEYERS: Does Jack know?
TONY ALMEIDA: Nina please.
NINA MEYERS: Tony answer me.
TONY ALMEIDA: Yes I knew the safe house was hit.
NINA MEYERS: Why didn't you tell me this?
TONY ALMEIDA: Mason didn't want you to know because he didn't want you to tell Jack.
NINA MEYERS: His family is missing Tony, Don't you think he should know?
TONY ALMEIDA: Look I'm with you on this. Mason gave the order. He's deployed resources, He's called local's to help find them.
NINA MEYERS: You should of told me. You work for me.
TONY ALMEIDA: And you work for Mason.
NINA MEYERS: This is my fault. I should of never left Teri and Kim.
TONY ALMEIDA: Nina, your not a field agent. There's nothing you could of done.
NINA MEYERS: Jack needs to know about this.
{Nina call's Mason on his cell as they both just got into Saugus.}
GEORGE MASON: Mason.
NINA MEYERS: George, have you told Jack about his family yet?
GEORGE MASON: Ah, no were not there yet.
NINA MEYERS: You can't do this. You have to tell him.
GEORGE MASON: Uh huh.
NINA MEYERS: Why not let him know. George they're exposed. If Drazen's people find them first...
GEORGE MASON: Uh yeah that's a good idea.
NINA MEYERS: George, if anything happens to them he's going to hold you responsible.
GEORGE MASON: Okay let me know if you have any progress.
NINA MEYERS: George!!!
{Hangs up}
GEORGE MASON: Jack, my battery just died can I use your phone for a second.
JACK BAUER: Yeah.
{They both get out of the car as they look on to the woods}
{George turns off Jack's phone}
JACK BAUER: I got a signal. What did Nina have to say?
GEORGE MASON: She's just checking our position. What does GPS say?
JACK BAUER: It doesn't make sense. It says the address is right up ahead.
GEIRGE MASON: I know it was hush hush but who exactly was Victor Drazen?
JACK BAUER: Victor Drazen was Milosevic's shadow. He was in charge of all covert operations. He was responsible for all the ethnic cleansing campaigns in Kosovo, Sarajevo and Bosnia.
GEORGE MASON: Your unit took him out right?
JACK BAUER: Yes we did.
GEORGE MASON: So who do you think would have the kind of influence to run an operation like this against you and Palmer?
JACK BAUER: My guess would be Serbian military. Only they could pull this off. Somehow Alexis and Andre pulled together a cell without us knowing.
GEORGE MASON: It's a hell of a sell. Being able to turn Jamey.
JACK BAUER: I agree.
GEORGE MASON: Any idea why the Serbs would wanna spend this much money out in the middle of the woods?
JACK BAUER: No.............GEORGE LOOK, a power transformer. The lock on it's new.

INT. RICK'S PLACE
{The drug dealers arrive at the house}
FRANK: Hey, right on time. I like that.
KRUGMAN: Who the hell's this?
FRANK: Just some friends of mine.
KRUGMAN: How do you know Frankie?
KIM BAUER: I'm a friend of Rick's.
KRUGMAN: Uh, Who's Rick?
FRANK: We gonna play twenty questions or what here?
KRUGMAN: I want to know who's in the room. You got a problem with that?
FRANK: No man. Take a urine sample, do a blood test come let's get this over with.
KRUGMAN: Fine. You got the money?
FRANK: I got what you need don't worry about that. Let's see the E first.
KRUGMAN: Pure MDMA Want to check it.
FRANK: No, I trust you.
KRUGMAN: Where's the money?
{Frank opens his bag slowly as Krugman sees a gun. He pulls out his and Frank's friends bust in the room.}
{STANDOFF}
FRANK: STAND DOWN. Come on man, Stand down or your eating one.
KRUGMAN: You pull that trigger, your going down to.
FRANK'S FRIEND: Come on let's just do them.
KRUGMAN: Okay, everyone chill out. We're putting our guns down.
FRANK: Easy.....See what they got on them...........{TO RICK} All this because you couldn’t keep my brother alive.
{Frank cracks Rick in the shoulder with the back of his shotgun}
KRUGMAN: What are you going to do now man? You gonna kill us?
FRANK: I'll kill you. I'll kill you if you ever show up here again.
{Frank cracks Krugman in the nose with his gun}
FRANK: You should get that stitched man.
KRUGMAN: Hey Frankie?
FRANK: What's that?
KRUGMAN: Your under arrest.
{Cops bust in everywhere. One cop shoot's Frank's friend because he fired at the cop}
KRUGMAN: Let's go arrest all of them.
KIM BAUER: No wait. We're not part of this.
KRUGMAN: {Radio} This is Krugman. One suspect down, five being booked and I think I got a broken nose.

{As Palmer finishes up his conference, he exits and Keith hugs his dad}
KEITH PALMER: I love you dad.
SENATOR PALMER: I love you to son.

INT. THE BAUER HOUSE
{Phil shows Teri some photos as he walks into the kitchen to make some coffee.]
{Chris enters}
CHRIS: Restroom?
PHIL PARSLOW: Down the hall.
{Jovan enters the house, Shoot's and kills Chris. He fires at Phil. Phil is shot. Jovan runs over to Teri pointing his gun to her face}
JOVAN: Your daughter, where is she?
TERI BAUER: I don't know.
JOVAN: Tell me where she is and I will make this painless, I promise.
TERI BAUER: I don't know, Oh my God, I don't know.
JOVAN: Fine.
{Jovan is one second away from killing Teri as Tony Almeida enters the house shooting several times at Jovan, Killing him.}
TONY ALMEIDA: Teri, step away from him.
TERI BAUER: Oh my God.
TONY ALMEIDA: Teri step away.
TERI BAUER: O my God. The car................I lost Kimberly.

{THE SUN IS STARTING TO GO DOWN AS JACK AND MASON ARE LEAD TO A OPEN FIELD IN SAUGUS}
JACK BAUER: GPS says this is it.
GEORGE MASON: Right.
{IN THE DISTANCE A HELICOPTER FLIES UP TO THEM}
GEORGE MASON: What is that? Reconnaissance?
JACK BAUER: Someone knows were here.
{THE HELICOPTER FLIES AWAY TOWARDS THE FADING SUN}
