JACK BAUER: {Voice over} Right now, Terrorists are plotting to assassinate a Presidential Candidate. My wife and daughter have been targeted. And people I work with may be involved in both. I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and today is the longest day of my life.

{THE CAMERA DISPLAYS AN ARIAL VEIW OF DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES AT 10:00 P.M. NEXT WE CUT INTO THE DRAZEN'S VAN. ANDRE DRAZEN CALL'S JACK WHO IS DRIVING TOWARDS THE LOCATION ANDRE TOLD HIM TO GO TO.}
JACK BAUER: Yeah.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Proceed to Palmer's hotel.
JACK BAUER: What do you want me to do there?
ANDRE DRAZEN: When your Government abducted my father, they also froze two hundred million dollars of our assets. Palmer has the necessary clearance to unfreeze them.
JACK BAUER: So in the end, everything that happened today was because of money?
ANDRE DRAZEN: I wouldn't say that. That money is ours. We'll call Palmer at this number at exactly 10:45. Once I receive confirmation of the transfer, I'll give you further instructions.
JACK BAUER: What kind of instructions?
{ANDRE WITH A HAPPY LOOK ON HIS FACE}
JACK BAUER: You want me to take out Palmer?
ANDRE DRAZEN: Of course. That's why we let you go. That's why we have your daughter.......Jack?
JACK BAUER: I'm still here.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Remember we will call at 10:45. I trust I don't have to tell you what will happen if Palmer doesn't answer. {HANGS UP}

{DAVID IS SITTING DOWN LOOKING AT PAPERS WHEN PATTY ENTERS}
SENATOR PALMER: Hello Patty.
PATTY BROOKS: You left the party early.
SENATOR PALMER: I wasn't in the mood. What's up?
PATTY BROOKS: I was just wondering if you had a chance to look at the Dallas schedule.
SENATOR PALMER: It's fine.
PATTY BROOKS: Good........Do you need anything else from me?
SENATOR PALMER: Sit down. A little while ago we started down a road that was going to take us to a dangerous place.
PATTY BROOKS: I know and I'm sorry.
SENATOR PALMER: Are you?
PATTY BROOKS: I'm attracted to you Senator. I always have been.
{DAVID HANDS PATTY A HOTEL CARD}
SENATOR PALMER: Meet me in twenty minuets. In room 907. I'll be waiting for you.
{SHERRY BUSTS IN}
SHERRY PALMER: Oh David, Good I need to talk to you.
PATTY BROOKS: I'll just go make those changes you asked for.
SENATOR PALMER: Thanks Patty.
SHERRY PALMER: I told Keith and Nicole that we're going to stump it separately for the next couple of days.
SENATOR PALMER: What did they say?
SHERRY PALMER: They know we are not getting along, David.
SENATOR PALMER: Fine, what are they going to do?
SHERRY PALMER: They'll stay with me. Unless of course you want them with you.
SENATOR PALMER: No, I could use a couple of days alone.

GEORGE MASON: We have to work under a couple of assumptions. The only way to find Jack is through Drazen. The only way to get to Drazen is if Alexis takes us there. We have to devote all of our resources to finding Alexis.
NINA MEYERS: Yeah, but he shed the tracker.
GEORGE MASON: I know. So we run satellite and run computer simulators.
{PHONE RINGS}
GEORGE MASON: Yeah?
JACK BAUER: George It's me.
GEORGE MASON: Jack, are you all right?
JACK BAUER: Yes. Drazen let me go but I can't come in yet.
GEORGE MASON: What do mean?
JACK BAUER: George listen to me. Tell Teri I'm out, I know she's worried about me. If Drazen calls don't tell him that we talked. It'll put Kim in danger.
GEORGE MASON: Fine but Jack, Let us help you.
JACK BAUER: George I got to go. {HANGS UP}
GEORGE MASON: I don't like the sound of that.
NINA MEYERS: What do you think he's doing?
GEORGE MASON: Drazen let him go for a reason. Jack won't let us help him. He won't tell us what he's doing. Whatever he's doing, He's trying to protect Kim...........What's the one thing we know for sure that Drazen wants?
NINA MEYERS: Palmer dead.
{GEORGE PICKS UP THE PHONE}
GEORGE MASON: Jane. Connect me to the Palmer suite, Secret Service.

ANDRE DRAZEN: What's happening? What's wrong?
DOCTOR: I can't stop the bleeding.
VICTOR DRAZEN: Do not let him die......Alexie.
{ALEXIS TAKES OFF HIS BREATHING MASK AND LOOKS INTO VICTOR'S EYES}
ALEXIS DRAZEN: Father {BARELY ALIVE}
ANDRE DRAZEN: ALEXIE!!!!!!! DO SOMETHING.
{THE DOCTOR TRIES EVERYTHING HE CAN}
DOCTOR: I'm sorry. There's nothing more I can do.
VICTOR DRAZEN: Leave us. We are family.
{VICTOR SHUTS ALEXIS'S EYES FOR GOOD.}
{ANDRE VERY ANGRY STARES AT KIM}
ANDRE DRAZEN: First Mother and Martina. Now Alexis. AND IT'S BAUER!!!!!!!!
{ANDRE PULLS OUT HIS GUN, POINTS IT AT KIM}

PATTY BROOKS: He wants to see me.
SHERRY PALMER: When?
PATTY BROOKS: Tonight.
SHERRY PALMER: He didn't waste much time. How are you doing?
PATTY BROOKS: I told you before, I feel uncomfortable.
SHERRY PALMER: No, no, Patty please. You feel uncomfortable because you’re about to be with my husband. And because you’re doing it with my consent.
PATTY BROOKS: Why are you doing this Mrs. Palmer?
SHERRY PALMER: It's important for David's career that I have his full confidence. And I no longer have that.
PATTY BROOKS: And you want me to get it?
SHERRY PALMER: Yes. And report back to me. Now go, your elevator is waiting.

NINA MEYERS: Yes, just make sure that Palmer has an extra layer of security.
TONY ALMEIDA: Nina, look. The plans of the facility where they were holding Victor Drazen?
NINA MEYERS: Yeah?
TONY ALMEIDA: They've been tampered with.
NINA MEYERS: Who has access to these archives?
TONY ALMEIDA: Division and District.
NINA MEYERS: Can you find out who's had access to these in the last month?
TONY ALMEIDA: Yeah.
NINA MEYERS: Well do it. The sooner the better.
TONY ALMEIDA: You think we're dealing with a second dirty agent?
NINA MEYERS: Yes.
{GEORGE WALKS OVER TO NINA AS TONY LEAVES}
GEORGE MASON: What did Tony want?
NINA MEYERS: He was just telling me why it was so hard to pick up a threat on Drazen.
GEORGE MASON: Listen, I need your help. Teri Bauer is a basket case.
NINA MEYERS: I don't know what you think I can do.
GEORGE MASON: You're good with her. You calm her down....Come on.
NINA MEYERS: Fine.
GEORGE MASON: She's in the conference room.
{NINA WALKS INTO THE ROOM}
TERI BAUER: Is it over? Did they make the trade?
NINA MEYERS: Jack's safe. He's no longer a hostage.
TERI BAUER: Is he on his way?
NINA MEYERS: We don't know where he is.
TERI BAUER: What?
NINA MEYERS: He called in to tell us he was okay, but he didn't say anything else.
TERI BAUER: Why not?
NINA MEYERS: I think that Drazen wants him to do something else.
TERI BAUER: That doesn't make sense. Why would he do anything for that man?
NINA MEYERS: I think it's to protect Kim.
TERI BAUER: What are you talking about?
NINA MEYERS: Teri, The reason why Kim isn't back is because.......
TERI BAUER: No, no, no...
NINA MEYERS: Teri, just listen. We think that's where Jack is now. He's trying to bring back Kim.
{TERI BREAKS DOWN}

VICTOR DRAZEN: The task we have given your father is a simple one.

VICTOR DRAZEN: We will see.

SENATOR PALMER: {ON PHONE WITH JACK} Jack I just got your message.
JACK BAUER: Senator I need to see you right away.
SENATOR PALMER: Your office said you might be coming here.
JACK BAUER: I am coming there.
SENATOR PALMER: Why?
JACK BAUER: I have a message from Victor Drazen.
SENATOR PALMER: Yeah, they also said that Drazen has your daughter and you could be a threat. They added to my security. Secret service has been told not to let you near me.
JACK BAUER: Senator they do have my daughter but I am not coming over there to harm you in any way.
SENATOR PALMER: What does Drazen want you to do?
JACK BAUER: He wants to speak to you at 10:45. He's given me a scrambled phone. It can't be traced.
SENATOR PALMER: What does he want to talk to me about?
JACK BAUER: Money. I'll explain everything as soon as I get there. Just tell you people to let me through.
SENATOR PALMER: Drazen's people, who are holding your daughter hostage, want me dead. You’re asking a lot Jack.
JACK BAUER: Senator, they had my wife and daughter this morning and I managed to save your life. I am not coming there to harm you in any way. You have my word.

PATTY BROOKS: Well how much time do we have?
SENATOR PALMER: Don't worry about that.........I have something I want to tell you Patty.
PATTY BROOKS: Yes.
SENATOR PALMER:{WAITS FOR A MOMENT} You’re fired.........Pack up, get out. Don't bother to ask me or anyone else on my staff for a reference. Prospective employers won't like what I'll have to say.
PATTY BROOKS: I don't understand.
SENATOR PALMER: I know what you’re doing. You’re working with my wife against me.
PATTY BROOKS: Senator, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to deceive you like this. Your wife insisted and I didn't know what to say.
SENATOR PALMER: ‘No’ would have done it.
PATTY BROOKS: I know. I should have. Your wife can be very scary sometimes.
SENATOR PALMER: So can I. I want you out in 30 minuets.

TONY ALMEIDA: You got to take a look at this. These are the six people who have accessed the detention facility archives. The first five were just doing scheduled backups. Here's the sixth. {PHOTO OF MASON SHOWS UP ON THE SCREEN}
NINA MEYERS: George?.........George is the mole?
TONY ALMEIDA: It's possible. He accessed that file four days ago. You have to call Chappelle.
NINA MEYERS: No. You need to shut down his network access. You can't let anything in or out.

SHERRY PALMER: Where were you?
SENATOR PALMER: Downstairs. Room 907. With Patty.

SHERRY PALMER: You know what your problem is David? You think that everyone is conspiring against you. When in fact, we are just trying to help you.
SENATOR PALMER: By putting another woman in my bed? Do you realize how sick that is?
SHERRY PALMER: Come on. We chose a certain life. We are about to move into the White House. That's right, we. You and I. All the issues, all the politics and all the hard work. That's going to help us get there.
{A AGENT KNOCKS ON THE DOOR}
SENATOR PALMER: What?
AGENT: Sir, Jack Bauer just arrived for you.
SENATOR PALMER: I'll be out in a moment. Sherry, we're not done here.
{DAVID WALKS OUT AND INTO THE LIVING ROOM}
SENATOR PALMER: Jack.
JACK BAUER: Senator.
SENATOR PALMER: Convincing secret service to allow you to come up here and see me was difficult enough.
JACK BAUER: All that matters is you need to talk to Victor Drazen when he calls. Listen to his demands and cooperate.
SENATOR PALMER: How did he get your daughter? I thought she was protected?
JACK BAUER: I did to...........Sir he could call any minuet.
SENATOR PALMER: You said this was about money.
JACK BAUER: Yes. $200 million of his was frozen after he was abducted. He wants it back. He says you have the clearance to get it back to him.
SENATOR PALMER: That's why Drazen sent you here? To get me to release his funds?
JACK BAUER: As soon as he has conformation of the transfer he's going to tell me to take action on you.
SENATOR PALMER: To kill me?
JACK BAUER: Yes.........Of course I would never do you any harm sir you know that. He has my daughter; I'm just trying to buy some time.
SENATOR PALMER: Jack, I don't have the authority to transfer those funds. Drazen knows that.
JACK BAUER: What do you mean?
SENATOR PALMER: He knows our system. That money is gone.
{PHONE RINGS}
JACK BAUER: Senator please... Answer this phone.
SENATOR PALMER: Okay Jack, I'll tell him what he wants to hear...................This is David Palmer.
VICTOR DRAZEN: Senator Palmer. It must be nice to be reunited with your friend Jack Bauer. {PRESSES A BUTTON ON A DEVICE}
SENATOR PALMER: What do you want?.............Drazen?
{THE LIGHT ON THE PHONE TURNS RED AND WE LISTEN TO A LOUD HUMMING SOUND}
JACK BAUER: He knows he can't get the money...........SENATOR!!!!!!!!!
{JACK GRABS THE PHONE AND THROWS IT OUT THE WINDOW AS THE ROOM EXPLODES}
KIM BAUER: NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SHERRY PALMER: The man that put your life in danger.
SENATOR PALMER: SHERRY PLEASE.
{AN AGENTS RADIO GOES OFF}
RADIO: We need a 20 on the senator.
JACK BAUER: Don't answer that.......Senator we have to talk about this. My daughter.
SHERRY PALMER: What's going on?
JACK BAUER: The man that planned this explosion needs to believe that it was a success.
SHERRY PALMER: You mean you want the world to think that David is dead?
JACK BAUER: Yes.
SHERRY PALMER: No. No way. David what's this all about?
SENATOR PALMER: His daughter is being held hostage.
SHERRY PALMER: We can't have people thinking that David has been assassinated.
JACK BAUER: If we don't then my daughter will die.

JACK BAUER: We keep him quarantined for the next few hours. We leak a story to the press that he was killed in the explosion.
SHERRY PALMER: You have got to be kidding.
JACK BAUER: I've never been more serious in my life.

JACK BAUER: We are talking about the life of a young girl.
SHERRY PALMER: David we can not keep playing games with the press.
JACK BAUER: Senator if we are going to do this then we need to do it now.

GEORGE MASON: EVERYBODY, EYES ON MONITORS.
T.V. REPORTER: Events are unfolding by the minuet in this tragic development. We have just learned from the Palmer camp who has confirmed that senator David Palmer has been killed in an explosion. This could be related to this morning's assassination attempt but at this time no one has been arrested.
{VICTOR AND ANDRE WATCH THE REPORTER. ANDRE TURNS OFF THE T.V.}
ANDRE DRAZEN: We did it father.
{THEY HUG}
ANDRE DRAZEN: I'll take care of the girl then we can leave.
VICTOR DRAZEN: Do nothing until we find out for sure that Jack Bauer is dead.
{VICTOR WALKS AWAY AS ANDRE DIALS JACK'S NUMBER}

ANDRE DRAZEN: You’re a very lucky man Mr. Bauer. I was calling to confirm your death but I see you have survived.
JACK BAUER: Andre, I have an offer to make you. You have killed Senator Palmer. I'm the last person on your list. I'll make you a trade. Me for my daughter.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Come to Port Of Los Angeles. Dock 11-A.
JACK BAUER: What kind of insurance do I have that you'll let her go when I get there?
ANDRE DRAZEN: Sadly none. But we have decided that the sins of the father need not be visited upon her.
JACK BAUER: Port Of Los Angeles dock 11-A. I'll be there in 30 minuets.
ANDRE DRAZEN: And Jack. If you bring your colleagues or involve them in any way we'll know. {HANGS UP}
KIM BAUER: Why are you doing this to us?

JACK BAUER: I know. Look, it’s almost over. Just hang in there.
TERI BAUER: Okay.

JACK BAUER: Yeah.....I'm still here.

JACK BAUER: Yes. Very happy.

JACK BAUER: Yes. Sweetheart I promise you everything is going to be okay. It's just been a really, really long day.
TERI BAUER: Just get back here so we can all go home.

{JACK WIPES THE TEARS OFF HIS FACE AND GETS A DEADLY SERIOUS LOOK ON HIS FACE AS HE CLIMBS INTO HIS SUV AND TAKES OFF}

ANDRE DRAZEN: I had a sister once. She was full of life. Like you. She was a photographer, took hundreds of pictures. I used to love looking at them. I can't do that anymore..........You know how she died? Has anyone told you?...................Your father killed her.
KIM BAUER: I don't believe you.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Well he says it was an accident. When a man goes halfway around the world to set off a bomb, he’s responsible for any accidents that result....Has your father ever talked about his work? Where he goes?
KIM BAUER: My father is a good man.
ANDRE DRAZEN: No.....He's not.

{KIM RUNS AROUND OUTSIDE THE DOCKS AS ANDRE AND VICTOR RUN TO THE GUARD.}
{ANDRE IS SHOUTING IN SERBIAN TO HIS MEN TO FIND HER}
{SHE FINDS A HIDING SPOT FOR A SECOND THEN RUNS DOWN A BRIDGE. ANDRE AND VICTOR SEE HER AS THEY YELL}
ANDRE DRAZEN: DON'T DO IT KIM. YOU'LL DROWN.
{KIM JUMPS OFF THE BRIDGE AND INTO THE WATER. THEY LOST HER}
{JACK IS ON THE HIGHWAY ALMOST THERE}
{KIM POPS UP FROM THE WATER AND HIDES}
ANDRE DRAZEN: How are we going to do this without the girl?
VICTOR DRAZEN: Bauer has no choice but to trust us.
{ANDRE'S CELL RINGS}
ANDRE DRAZEN: Yes?
YELENA: It's Yelena.
ANDRE DRAZEN: Why are you calling?
YELENA: Palmer is not dead.
ANDRE DRAZEN: What?
YELENA: It was a trick to make you believe to keep the girl alive.
ANDRE DRAZEN: You’re sure about this?

{YELENA IS REVEALED. IT'S NINA MEYERS}
{NINA HANGS UP WITH ANDRE AND WALKS TO TONY}
TONY ALMEIDA: There you are. We just got some new Intel from Langley.
NINA MEYERS: Good.
TONY ALMEIDA: Take a look at this.
