MATHESON: Yeah that's right. It's about time you guys got here.
OFFICER:
We just got the call five minuets ago sir. Dispatch says you’re reporting a
child abduction? Is that right?
GARY
MATHESON: It's my daughter. She took my daughter.
OFFICER:
You want to describe the suspect for me.
GARY
MATHESON: I can do better than that. Her name is Kim Bauer. She works for my
wife and me.

GEORGE
MASON: Mason.
TONY
ALMEIDA: George it's Tony. How far out of the city are you?
GEORGE
MASON: Why?
TONY
ALMEIDA: I just got off the phone with Steve Lawler from District.
GEORGE
MASON: About what?
TONY
ALMEIDA: L.A.P.D. made a possible vehicle match with somebody on our watch
list. He wants you to check it out.
GEORGE
MASON: This is coming out of LAPD, come on.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Well Lawler doesn't trust their judgment and either that's why he wants
you there. Plus he knows it's on your way to Bakersfield.
GEORGE
MASON: What's the address?

OPERATIONS COMPLEX PALMERS OFFICE
LYNNE:
Before you go to your press conference Rayburn wanted me to give you this
updated damage projection.
PRESIDENT
PALMER: His casualty figures are higher.
LYNNE:
Sir they have all but ruled out dirty bomb and conventional weapons. They feel
we are actually dealing with a nuclear bomb.

BAUER: MEGAN! Where did you go? I told
you not to move.
MEGAN
MATHESON: I was looking for you.
KIM
BAUER: Oh God. It's okay. I'm sorry.

EDDIE GRANT'S VAN
[Jack
sitting in shotgun is holding the blueprints of CTU]
JACK
BAUER: You really think you’re gonna take down that building with three
charges?
EDDIE
GRANT: It's all in the placement Jack.
JACK
BAUER: So what made you target CTU?
EDDIE
GRANT: Why you asking so many questions?
JACK
BAUER: Nothing I just want to know what I'm getting into.
MAN:
Oh really man because no one asked you to get into this.
EDDIE
GRANT: When the time comes Jack all you gotta do is keep your eyes open. We'll
do the rest.
JACK
BAUER: Whatever you say Eddie.
[Jack's
cell rings. It's Kim. Jack reacts but doesn't want to blow his cover. He
answers.]
[SPLIT
SCREEN OF KIM AND JACK]
JACK
BAUER: Yeah?
KIM
BAUER: Dad?
JACK
BAUER: Hey did you get my message?
KIM
BAUER: Dad listen to me.
JACK
BAUER: I left it on your phone an hour ago.
KIM
BAUER: I don't have my phone, I lost it. Look Gary flipped out on me.
JACK
BAUER: Can you find it?
KIM
BAUER: Find what?
JACK
BAUER: Your phone.
KIM
BAUER: Dad I'm in trouble, I need you to come get me. I can't go to the police
with this.
JACK
BAUER: Where are you?
KIM
BAUER: I'm at a pay phone on Spring Street.
JACK
BAUER: What's the number?
KIM
BAUER: Dad I don't want you to call me back; I want you to come get me.
JACK
BAUER: I can't do that.
KIM
BAUER: Why not?
JACK
BAUER: Listen, Why don't you go to Carol's? I'll call you there in the next
couple of hours.
KIM
BAUER: [Upset] Aunt Carol's?
JACK
BAUER: Yeah.
KIM
BAUER: She lives in San Jose dad.
JACK
BAUER: I know where she lives.
KIM
BAUER: Dad you’re acting really weird right now.
JACK
BAUER: Look just go there and for once do what I ask okay?
[HANGS
UP]
[The
van pulls up to the power units outside the main entrance of C.T.U. They all
get out.]
EDDIE
GRANT: Who was that?
JACK
BAUER: My girlfriend. I asked her to pick someone up for me. She just doesn't
listen.

C.T.U. MICHELLE DESSLERS DESK
MICHELLE
DESSLER: Tony, Jack Bauer's daughter is on line five. She sounds pretty freaked
out.
[Tony
answers]
TONY
ALMEIDA: Hi Kim it's Tony, You okay?
KIM
BAUER: Well I just spoke to my dad. He's acting strange. He pretty much hung up
on me.
TONY
ALMEIDA: He's on a job Kim.
KIM
BAUER: Since when? I just saw him two hours ago.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Maybe I can help you out.
KIM
BAUER: Well it's kinda messed up. I have the police after me.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Why?
KIM
BAUER: Well I didn't do anything wrong. I've just been helping this little girl
that I've been taking care of.
[STATIC
ON PHONE]
TONY
ALMEIDA: Kim?..................Hello Kim?
KIM
BAUER: Hello?............................................
TONY
ALMEIDA: Kim?.....Our connection messed up. Tell me where you are, I'll have
somebody pick you up.
KIM
BAUER: I can't stay here.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Can you find a way to C.T.U.?
KIM
BAUER: Yeah I guess so. I can take the bus.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Okay do that. When you get here I'll help you straighten everything
out.
KIM
BAUER: Okay.
[HANGS

MICHELL
DESSLER: There's noise on all the phone lines.
PAULA
SCHAFFER: Yeah I tried to filter it and I can't get rid of it. It may not be
out system.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Today of all days. Look call the phone company and switch all priority
calls to wireless protocol, all right?
PAULA
SCHAFFER: Okay.

C.T.U. POWER STATION
JACK
BAUER: What are you trying to do, knock out their phone lines?
TERRORIST:
Don't bug me I'm working.
EDDIE
GRANT: We're causing some interference so the phone company sends out a crew.
Maybe you go up the road Jack. Keep a look out.
JACK
BAUER: Sure. No problem.
[Jack
starts walking away up to the van and hides behind it as he calls Northwest Regional
Operations Complex operator.]
OPERATOR:
Northwest Regional.
JACK
BAUER: This is Jack Bauer with C.T.U. I need to speak with the president
immediately.
OPERATOR:
Who is this?
JACK
BAUER: Jack Bauer. Priority access code 7-1-1-7-A. This is urgent.
OPERATOR:
Hold please.
JACK
BAUER: Please don't put me on hold........Damnit.
[Lynne
Kresge answers]
LYNNE
KRESGE: Mr. Bauer, This is Lynne Kresge.
JACK
BAUER: I need to speak to the President.
LYNNE
KRESGE: I'm sorry he's with the media right now.
JACK
BAUER: Listen to me. C.T.U.'s phone lines are down. I need you to get them an
urgent message.
LYNNE
KRESGE: What is it?
JACK
BAUER: C.T.U. Los Angeles is going to be blown up within the hour. Wald's group
is doing it.
LYNNE
KRESGE: Is this the nuclear bomb?
JACK
BAUER: No it is not the nuke. I repeat it is not the nuke but you need to evacuate
C.T.U. and you need to alert a bomb squad. There are at least three charges on
the second [HANGS UP]
LYNNE
KRESGE: Jack?.......Jack?...
EDDIE
GRANT: All set Jack.

INT. OPERATIONS COMPLEX
LYNNE
KRESGE: Wald's crew is planning to blow up C.T.U. Los Angeles. It's a non
radiological attack and it's happening within the hour.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Where did you get this?
LYNNE
KRESGE: Jack Bauer.
ERIC
RAYBURN: They're hitting C.T.U. to cripple our investigation and divert
attention away from the major strike.
LYNNE
KRESGE: I agree.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Has Bauer contacted C.T.U.?
LYNNE
KRESGE: He couldn't get through. Phone lines are down. Somehow we have to warn
C.T.U.
ERIC
RAYBURN: No. No we don't. We can't.
LYNNE
KRESGE: What are you talking about?
ERIC
RAYBURN: If Wald's crew fails. They'll think someone tipped off C.T.U. They'll
figure out it was Bauer.
LYNNE
KRESGE: Are you seriously suggesting that we just let these people at C.T.U.
die? Jack Bauer called with specific instructions.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Why isn't he stopping them himself? He knows he has to keep his cover
intact. He knows if he's exposed he can't get to Wald and we lose are only
chance on finding the nuclear bomb.
LYNNE
KRESGE: Eric, This is the president’s decision.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Except right now he's trying to convince the press that it's business
as usual. We've all ready detained Ron Wieland illegally; we can't muzzle the
entire press core.
LYNNE
KRESGE: We still have to tell the president.
ERIC
RAYBURN: And we will. When he's in a position to hear it.
LYNNE
KRESGE: It will be to late then.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Lynne, This is my call.
LYNNE
KRESGE: I don't work for you.
[Eric
grabs Lynne's arm as she motions for him to let go]
[Lynne
grabs a phone and calls Jenny]
JENNY
DODGE: Jenny Dodge.
LYNNE
KRESGE: Jenny it's Lynne I need to speak with president.
JENNY
DODGE: He's in the middle of a press conference.
LYNNE
KRESGE: Jenny I don't care. This is urgent I want to speak with him now.
JENNY
DODGE: Okay I'll try to get a hold of him.

[A
phone crew arrives to the gate]
CAM:
Hey look at this. Someone cut the chain.
[Eddie’s
crew comes out of nowhere as Eddie Grant shoots and kills the other phone crew
guy]
EDDIE
GRANT: Don't move. What's your name? Look at me. What's your name? Cam Strocker
that's your name?
CAM:
Yeah.
EDDIE
GRANT: Okay Cam look at me. You want to live Cam?
CAM:
Yeah. Yeah.
EDDIE
GRANT: Okay this is what you’re going to do. Your going to call your boss and
tell him you need a on site system check at C.T.U. headquarters. You got that?
CAM:
Yeah.
EDDIE
GRANT: Can you do it? Can you do it?
CAM:
Yeah.
EDDIE
GRANT: Good answer.
[Jack
can't believe he's letting this happen]

DESSLER: It's Eric Rayburn from N.S.A.

takes the phone call}
TONY
ALMEIDA: Mr. Rayburn, this is Tony Almeida.
ERIC
RAYBURN: I understand you’re the ranking agent on site?
TONY
ALMEIDA: Yes sir I am.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Then I need you to execute an order for me.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Of course.
ERIC
RAYBURN: I want you to copy and transfer your database onto our server.
Anything related to the nuclear threat. {PAUSE} Did you hear me?
TONY
ALMEIDA: Yes sir I did. May I ask why?
ERIC
RAYBURN: It's precautionary. Given the extraordinary threat we're facing today,
but I would like it done sooner than later.
TONY
ALMEIDA: How soon?
ERIC
RAYBURN: By 11:00
TONY
ALMEIDA: Sir the earliest I can get that done is by noon and that's shifting
personnel.
ERIC
RAYBURN: You have until 11:00.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Sir that may not be enough time.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Then you better get started.
{HANGS
UP}
{Tony
walks over to Paula Schaffer}
TONY
ALMEIDA: Paula?
PAULA
SCHAFFER: Yeah?
TONY
ALMEIDA: I need to pull you off your sim analysis for a second.
PAULA
SCHAFFER: I'm almost done here.
TONY
ALMEIDA: I need you now. I want you to sort and send data to the N.S.A. server all
right? Everything related to the nuke okay?
PAULA
SCHAFFER: When do you need it done?
TONY
ALMEIDA: Now.
PAULA:
Okay, I'm going to have to generate a fresh encryption code.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Fine.
PAULA
SCHAFFER: I'll need to use Mr. Mason’s office.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Paula, just do it okay?
PAULA
SCHAFFER: Okay.
{Paula
runs up to Mason's office}
MICHELLE
DESSLER: Tony, what's going on? I mean first the phone lines go down then
N.S.A. puts in a rush order to transfer all our data on the nuke?
TONY
ALMEIDA: He said it was precautionary.
MICHELLE
DESSLER: Then he would have issued the same order to every other agency.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Look into that would ya?
MICHELLE
DESSLER: Sure.

arrives at the location he was ordered to check out. Several police units are there
as well.}
GEORGE
MASON: How ya doing? George Mason, C.T.U.
ARROYO:
Arroyo, L.A.P.D. Barber here made a
vehicle match from the alert you guys put out this morning.
GEORGE
MASON: Check the inside yet?
ARROYO:
We were waiting for you.
{An
office cuts a couple of locks on a garage door. They open it up and walk
inside}
{Mason
discovers the containment area where nuclear bomb was made}
GEORGE
MASON: What's this?
{They
enter the area as a man comes out of nowhere and kills an officer. He fires at
Mason as Mason fires back taking him down. George sees a radiation position
icon in the area as he coughs}
GEORGE
MASON: GET OUT OF THE AREA. GET OUT OF THE BUILDING. CALL HAZMAT AND N.E.S.T.
HAVE THEM SET UP A QUARANTINE WE GOT A HOTZONE.
{George
keeps on coughing}

BAUER: You okay?
MEGAN:

MEGAN:

KIM
BAUER: Yeah I have a dad.
MEGAN:

BAUER: Sometimes.

KIM
BAUER: Well he's wrong. I promise you he's wrong. Everything's going to be okay

van pulls up to the security entrance into the parking garage}
EDDIE
GRANT: You know the drill. Keep it cool cam and you'll live.

office walks up to the stopped van}
CAM:
How's it going? Just doing a system check and some line repair.
OFFICER:
Let me see your work order.
CAM:
My office just called. They spoke with your operations guy McKendrie. He says
you've got some serious noise on your lines.
OFFICER:
Let me see your I.D.
{The
officer checks the i.d. as another officer searches under the van}
EDDIE
GRANT: Doing great Cam. Isn't he Jack?
JACK
BAUER: Yeah he's doing great.
{Officer
comes back to the van}
OFFICER:
The back open?
CAM:
Uh, just my crew back there.
OFFICER:
I still have to look.
CAM:
It's open.
{Officer
opens the back door}
OFFICER:
There's a lot of you.
EDDIE
GRANT: It's a big job.
{Officer
closes the back doors and walks back up to Cam}
OFIICER:
All right go ahead.
CAM:
Thanks.
{They
drive on through}
CAM:
You know this isn't a bank. There's nothing here to steal here.
EDDIE
GRANT: We're not stealing anything.
CAM:
Then why are we here?
EDDIE
GRANT: We're fighting a war. We're taking back our country.
CAM:

MARIE
WARNER: I can never get a straight answer out of you.
KATE
WARNER: Just give me the phone. {Grabs it} Hello?
RALPH
BURTON: Kate.
KATE
WARNER: Did you check the passport information I gave you?
RALPH
BURTON: I did.

WARNER: And?
RALPH
BURTON: I'm afraid it confirms that Reza Naiyeer has had contact with Syed Ali.
KATE
WARNER: {Nervous} What does that mean? Are you saying Reza's a terrorist?
RALPH
BURTON: The police need to determine that. Keep this to yourself Kate. It's for
your protection.
KATE
WARNER: I have to tell my sister.
RALPH
BURTON: No, You can't tell her or anyone else about this until you hear from me

WARNER: I don't believe this is happening.

WARNER: {Looks out the window and sees Reza and his brother huge} Fine, all right.

is about to tell her father about this as Marie walks up to her}

NAIYEER: My brother Sanjay just arrived from Detroit and we wanted you to meet
him before he headed out to the hotel.
KATE
WARNER: Oh, well I'll meet him later.

NAIYEER: Oh no come on. You'll recognize him. He was at Stanford the same time
you were.
MARIE

runs into another room}

JENNY
DODGE: He's still on camera.
LYNE:
I told you this was urgent. You are his press secretary. You should have
slipped him a note.
JENNY
DODGE: I did. I'm sure as soon as the president can extract himself he'll call
you.

is making a chart of where all the charges will be placed as cam tries to free

points to a door as one of his crew members enters it and begins to place a

MASON: It looks like the lead in Panama City turned out to be real. Some kind
of lab where they might of assembled the nuclear bomb.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Based on what?
GEORGE
MASON: They found radioactive material.
TONY
ALMEIDA: What kind?
GEORGE
MASON: They are still running tests. I don't know.
TONY
ALMEIDA: Was anyone exposed?
GEORGE
MASON: They're putting us through deacon right now. I have to back to you Tony.

HAVE BEEN PLACED}
INT.
EDDIE'S VAN
{Jack
frees Cam}
CAM:
You gonna kill me too?
JACK
BAUER: Not today. Just relax; I'm not going to hurt you. I'm trying to stop
this thing. I need your help. Two cars over there there's a grey SUV. I want
you to hide under it and wait until we go. After we leave I want you to take
this back into the building. Go to security and ask for Tony Almeida. It'll
show him where all the bombs are located. Almeida knows what's going on. He'll
know what to do. Now go.
CAM:
Who are you?
JACK
BAUER: I'm a government agent working undercover. NOW GO.
CAM:
You work for the government and LET THEM KILL DANNY? SON OF A BITCH!
JACK
BAUER: {GRABS CAM} You listen to me. I'm sorry about your friend. I am. We are
in a very serious situation right now so you better get your ass under that car
right now. You understand me? Because these guys are going to back in a minuet
and if your still here, they will kill you and I won't be able to stop them.
The lives of everyone in that building are at stake right now. GO.
{Cam
takes off and hides as Eddie and his team walk back to the van. Jack takes his
pocket knife and cuts the back of his head as Eddie runs to the van}
CREW
MEMBER: Where's your boy Eddie?
EDDIE
GRANT: Jack? Jack? Jack what happened? Where's the guy? Look at me.
JACK
BAUER: I don't know?
EDDIE
GRANT: Where's the phone guy Jack?
JACK
BAUER: I don't know, I was looking out like you asked me to do next thing I
know he slapped me in head.
EDDIE
GRANT: Did you let the son of a bitch go?
JACK
BAUER: I didn't tie him up.
CREW
MEMBER: Oh you’re saying it's my fault. You believe this guy. He walks off the
street, breaks Dave's ankle.
{JACK
DARTS AT THE CREW MEMBER}
EDDIE
GRANT: Hey back off. SHUT UP. Jack get
in the van. We got seven minuets until this building goes down. GET IN!!
{the
van takes off, Cam gets out of his hiding spot and Kim and Megan arrive at
C.T.U.}

KIM
BAUER: Hi, my name is Kimberly Bauer, Tony Almeida is expecting us.
GUARD:
Okay, he'll take care of you.
MEGAN:
Where are we?
KIM
BAUER: Don't worry. We are safe here.

PALMER: What's going on here?
LYNE:
Jack Bauer called. He said that Wald's crew was blowing up C.T.U. It's a non
nuclear strike which means it is a secondary target.
PRESIDENT
PALMER: When is this happening?
LYNE:
Don't know. Bauer got cut off.
PRESIDENT
PALMER: Have you contacted C.T.U.?
ERIC
RAYBURN: That's what we were debating sir.
PRESIDENT
PALMER: Debating?
ERIC
RAYBURN: Right now Wald is our only thread to finding the nuclear bomb. But
Bauer hasn't gotten to Wald yet.
PRESIDENT
PALMER: Contact C.T.U. now.
LYNE:
Yes sir.
{Lynne
leaves}
PRESIDENT
PALMER: You think I'm making a mistake.
ERIC
RAYBURN: Yes sir I do.

DESSLER: Tony, That guy over there. He's asking for you. He claims he was taken
hostage by these men that want to blow up C.T.U. He said there are bombs planted here, here,
and here. I'll have a squad check

ALMEIDA: Order an evacuation now.
MICHELLE
DESSLER: Wait we don't know if this guy's
TONY
ALMEIDA: This is why N.S.A. wanted us to transfer over our database. They knew
we were being targeted, Evacuate now.
MICHELLE
